IRT Presents Agatha Christie Performance On-Line
The ultimate whodunit weaves history, mystery, and murder
In the midst of these unprecedented times and the closure of our 2019-2020 season, Indiana Repertory Theatre as partnered with WFYI to film a performance of Murder on the Orient Express.
While the Theatre is closed and our audiences are away, IRT wants to be able to share the ability to purchase and watch the performance from the comfort of your home.
About Agatha Christie’s “Murder on the Orient Express”
A luxury train trapped in a snowdrift, a dining car full of glamorous passengers, a dead body with multiple stab wounds, a suspicious intruder who keeps disappearing, and mysterious links to a far-distant murder case. Hercule Poirot, the world’s greatest detective, must interrupt his holiday to solve this fiendishly intricate and clever plot—before the snow is cleared and the train moves on. A golden-age detective story springs to life from the pages of the world’s best-selling author.
About the performance
This performance was filmed on March 18, 2020 in front of a small house of IRT staff, designers, Board members, and actors’ families. While it was quite uplifting to see the Grand Lobby and OneAmerica Mainstage turn into WFYI’s small mobile studio, IRT can assure you that this was probably the most moving season closing performance that many of us have seen here at the Theatre.
