Kristin Hensley and Jen Smedley have been performing, teaching, and writing comedy internationally for a combined 40+ years. They have been moms for one quarter of that time and it shows. After a couple of years in the married-with-children lifestyle, the two women began a practice of drinking wine together and talking while their children played. After a series of conversations about the difficulties of parenting, the concept for “IMomSoHard” was born, and they started a YouTube channel by the same name in May 2016. The two had little expectation as to just how big it would become. Initially, they intended only to offer humor and empathy. But the YouTube channel was an instant hit, accumulating more than 52,000 subscribers and more than 100 million cumulative views. Whether they’re trying on unrealistic bathing suits or joking about snot, Hensley and Smedley find the hilarious aspects of momhood and put them on display for all to enjoy – and take a little less seriously. After the first mega-year of touring 72 cities nationwide with their live stand-up show: “Mom’s Night Out – Summer Break Tour,” they will be hitting the road again this with “Mom’s Night Out: Round 2.” Their kids are older, the moms are older, but the show is still as fresh as ever!
