About Zakir Hussain & the Masters of Percussion

Grammy-winning tabla drum virtuoso Zakir Hussain is one of the most acclaimed percussionists of his time, known for his collaborations with top jazz, rock, and classical musicians from George Harrison and the Grateful Dead’s Mickey Hart to Yo-Yo Ma and Pharaoh Sanders. His music has made him one of India’s top cultural ambassadors and a champion of contemporary world music. Joining him will be Niladri Kumar, sitar; Eric Harland, Western drums; and the Kerala Drummers of India’s southwestern coast: Mattannur Sankarankutty Marar, his sons V. M. Sreekanth and V. M. Sreeraj, and their colleague Vellinezhi Anand.
