Indy Film Fest presented by Indiana State University, the Midwest’s fastest growing and most-watched film series, is proud to announce the 2017 festival dates and a Kickstarter campaign to make this year the best-ever Fest.
About Indy Film Fest
From July 13-23, hundreds of film critics, film lovers, and filmmakers will flock to the Indianapolis Museum of Art to see more than 95 films that represent the best in traditional and independent film from around the world.
From Film Fest’s executive director
“We believe in the power of film to connect and excite people,” said Indy Film Fest executive director Dan Moore. “We’ve seen what happens when we’re able to close the gap between audiences and filmmakers. A young cinema lover might attend a post-film meet and greet session and be inspired to create films of his or her own.”
Levels of donation
Donations on the Kickstarter include incentives for the backers. Levels range from the $10 “Supporter” level that comes with four tickets to a screening, all the way to the $1,000 “Studio Executive” level that comes with two all-access passes, t-shirts, reserved seating, entry to all Fest parties and more. Every dollar donated to the Kickstarter is used to fund filmmaker travel to Indianapolis for their film screening, which results in post-film Q&A sessions, discussions, meet and greets, and a chance for everyone to rub elbows with the talented artists who entertain and challenge their audiences.
From the Film Fest’s president
“Each year, filmmakers tell us this added level of hospitality is rare, and truly appreciated,” said Indy Film Fest president Chris Overpeck. “They describe it as a welcome reprieve from the usual festival routine of paying out of pocket and driving long stretches in pursuit of their artistic dreams.”
