The Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre finished their Spring 2015 schedule with a 4 performances run of this World Premiere Musical; back by popular demand to start the performance year, La Casa Azul ENCORE returns for a three performance engagement.
Conceived and written by Gregory Hancock, this was an unprecedented undertaking for Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre. The dancers of GHDT along with specially invited guest artists will present an all-original new musical based on the life of Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo. With original music, lyrics, choreography, costumes, and direction by Gregory Hancock, La Casa Azul promises to be a unique and ambitious performance that you will not want to miss.
Most of the original cast is intact. Several of the musical numbers are streamlined – and, several dance performances have been changed based upon creative re-interpretation.
