Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre closes its 2021-2022 performance season with the world premiere of Antony and Cleopatra. This new full-length, grand work will again pair the talents of GHDT’s Artistic Director Gregory Hancock and award-winning composer Cory Gabel, known for his evocative musical score for GHDT’s The Casket GirlsGHDT’s Antony and Cleopatra is a contemporary retelling of the classic tale and is set in “anytime” and “any place.” This story of power, intrigue, and passion has been inspired by one of the most charismatic and powerful women of all time.  This adaptation is a contemporary retelling set in two rival nightclubs. While exploring the complex and interpersonal relationships of these intriguing characters, Mr. Hancock uses movement and music to explore and discover how our human choices impact the stories of our lives.

About Cory Gabel

Cory Gabel is an American composer, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer.  He first became known as a lead singer and songwriter for the grunge rock-era band Limestone Rome from 1993 to 2001.  As a composer, Cory is known for his solo piano work and his frequent collaborations with dance companies, producing original, modern dance and ballet scores.

About Gregory Hancock

Gregory Glade Hancock is the founder and Executive Artistic Director of GHDT as well as choreographer and costume designer of all GHDT works.  He has created over 160 original dance works, and enjoys the collaborative process with other artists and musicians.
