Singer-songwriters Rufus Wainwright and José González are co-headlining a tour in support of their latest albums.
About Rufus Wainwright
Wainwright’s Grammy-nominated ninth album, Unfollow the Rules, finds him re-evaluating his life and work after a six-year break from pop to pursue classical projects, in particular his 2018 opera Hadrian. Recorded in the same L.A studios with musicians from Wainwright’s landmark 1998 debut, the 12-song collection opens a new chapter in his acclaimed career. He is the son of folk singers Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle.
About Jose Gonzales
González, born in Sweden to Argentinian parents, is known for his warm voice and deft nylon-stringed guitar work, often heard on TV and film soundtracks. He made his first international splash in the mid-2000s with a cover of The Knife’s “Heartbeats” and cracked the U.S. charts with his 2015 album, Vestiges & Claws. On his new release, Local Valley, he tackles complex themes with lyrics in English, Spanish, and Swedish.
