Civic Theatre brings Harper Lee’s classic, TO KILL A
MOCKINGBIRD
to the stage February 8-23, 2019 at the Tarkington at the Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel. In addition to public performances, Civic will
host over 3,500 middle and high school students at eight matinees of the play, providing an educational resource guide, along with Guest Experts, to discuss
topical issues from the play, relevant in today’s society.

About TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD

Scout, a young girl in a quiet southern town, is
about to experience the dramatic events that will affect the rest of her life. She and her brother, Jem, are being raised by their widowed father, Atticus, and by
a strongminded housekeeper, Calpurnia. Wide-eyed Scout is fascinated with the sensitively revealed people of her small town, but, from the start, there’s a rumble of thunder just under the calm surface of the life there.
