Join Indianapolis Women’s Chorus in the first concert of their 25th season, as they lift up “Unsung Voices.” This energizing and empowering program includes a diverse selection of songs that deserve a wider audience! You’ll hear music for women’s voices by top-caliber composers whose names were overlooked or buried because of their race, gender, or status, as well as “everyday” voices of regular people as they go about their lives. You’ll hear early Baroque music by an accomplished composer who was also a nun, a 20th century composition by Florence Price – an African-American woman whose prize-winning music is now being rediscovered – right next to a haunting Romanian lullaby, contemporary a cappella, and more!
